The Sixth Form Curriculum

ADVANCED and AS LEVEL SUBJECTS available are:-

English, Welsh (First Language), Welsh (Second Language), French, German, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Art and Design, Music, Design Technology, Drama, PE, Sociology, Psychology and Music Technology.

History, Geography, Religious Studies, Drama and Music may be studied to AS and A-Level through the medium of Welsh.

The Welsh Baccalaureate qualification is offered for study.

N.B. Advanced Vocational are equivalent to one or two conventional A-Level subjects (6 unit or 12 unit) and lead to College/University entry in the same way.

Extra GCSE’s

Timetabled lessons are available to all Sixth-Form students to improve their GCSE qualifications in English, and Mathematics.

For students wishing to extend their range of modern foreign languages, a GCSE course is offered in Russian.

All Sixth-Form students follow the advanced Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification and will also receive Higher Education and Career Guidance, and undertake a short period of work-related activity (business courses, placements etc.).
