Medical Needs
We take our role in supporting all aspects of a child's education seriously and this includes supporting children with any medical needs they may have.
The medical needs for any child are taken into consideration in relation to their pastoral and academic care (including exams) as well as in respect of any physical, mental or emotional needs that they may have.
We have a number of children who require daily, regular or ad-hoc medication (either self-administered, or administered by the school). These children are provided with a safe and clean environment to receive their medication and this medication can be held by the school and kept securely. This includes medication that requires refrigeration.
We believe that children should not be disadvantaged by any medical condition and therefore, ensure that the same level of support is provided on educational trips and activities that take place outside the school environment.
Medical Needs Forms
We ask that a medical needs and requirements form is completed for all pupils who have specific conditions or medical needs. These include long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes or epilepsy, and short-term conditions that require specific care.
You can access this form via reception, your Head of Year, or download it here:
Medication in School
Medication in school can either be stored securely by the school (antibiotics) or carried by the student with parental consent (e.g. asthma pump). Forms for this can be collected from reception and need to be signed by parents/guardians.
