Emergency First Aid

At Ysgol Dyffryn Aman we are fortunate to have an excellent first aid treatment facility which is well equipped to deal with most of the common issues that we have at school including injuries and illness. 

First Aid responsibility in the school is overseen by one of our Assistant Head Teachers, Mr Stephen Hagget, he is also our senior first aid officer and he works alongside a large number of qualified first aiders in the school who receive continuing professional development in their role.

All first aid injuries are recorded in the school's accident and incident log and where appropriate are shared via the Carmarthenshire County Council PORTH reporting system.

Governors receive regular reports of accident statistics and the advanced tracking system we have in place enables us to identify any areas of concern.

The school actively encourages pupils to take part in First Aid training and works closely with Cardiff University and St. John's Ambulance to train members of the Sixth Form in basic first aid.
