Yr 9 Trip to Ypres and Lille / Taith Bl9 i Ypres a Lille

Ar 12 Gorffennaf, cychwynnodd 47 o ddisgyblion Blwyddyn 9 ar daith gyffrous a chofiadwy i Ypres a Lille. Gan aros yn Lille, cafodd y disgyblion gyfle i ymweld ag amrywiaeth o atyniadau hanesyddol a diwylliannol yn ystod yr wythnos.

Ar ddydd Mawrth, mwynhaodd y disgyblion ymweliad â Ffatri Siocled Ledoux, cyn ymweld ag Essex Farm, Hill 62 a Chofeb y Cymry. Un o adegau mwyaf teimladwy'r daith oedd seremoni goffa a gyflwynwyd gan ein disgyblion er cof am y bardd Cymreig Hedd Wyn. Roedd yn deyrnged deimladwy a meddylgar, gan roi cyfle i'r disgyblion fyfyrio ar ei fywyd ac ar aberthau'r Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf.

Ar ddydd Mercher, cafwyd newid cyflymder gyda diwrnod llawn hwyl ym Mharc Thema Bellewaerde. Yn ddiweddarach y noson honno, mynychodd y disgyblion Seremoni'r Last Post yn Ypres. Roedd hon yn brofiad cofiadwy a theimladwy arall, gan roi cyfle iddynt fyfyrio ymhellach ar yr hanes yr oeddent wedi'i archwilio yn ystod y daith.

Ar ddydd Iau, mwynhaodd y disgyblion ychydig o amser rhydd yn Lille cyn cychwyn ar y daith adref.

Roedd y daith yn gyfuniad gwych o hanes, coffáu, diwylliant a hwyl, gan greu atgofion parhaol i'n disgyblion Blwyddyn 9.

On 12th July, 47 Year 9 pupils set off on an exciting and memorable trip to Ypres and Lille. Staying in Lille, pupils had the opportunity to visit a range of historical and cultural attractions throughout their stay.

On Tuesday, pupils enjoyed a visit to the Ledoux Chocolate Factory, followed by visits to Essex Farm, Hill 62 and the Welsh Memorial. One of the most poignant moments of the trip was a moving ceremony led by our pupils to remember the Welsh poet Hedd Wyn. It was a thoughtful and emotional tribute, giving pupils an opportunity to reflect on his life and the sacrifices made during the First World War.

Wednesday brought a change of pace with an cd action-packed visit to Bellewaerde Theme Park. Later that evening, pupils attended the Last Post Ceremony in Ypres, a memorable and moving experience that provided another opportunity to reflect on the history they had explored during the trip.

On Thursday, pupils enjoyed some free time exploring Lille before beginning the journey home.

The trip provided a wonderful combination of history, remembrance, culture and fun, creating lasting memories for our Year 9 pupils.
